11. Have you or do you intend to apply for a grant from another area board within this financial year?
No
12. If so, which Area Boards?
Southern Wiltshire
13. Please tell us WHO will benefit and HOW they will benefit from your project benefit your local community?
The Parish Council has sought views on how the play area could be improved and which items of equipment should be installed. A mix of items has been identified for the benefit of the children who will use the area - 1 x new roundabout 2 x new springer toys for the younger children new climbing frame for the older children. The installation will ensure an immediately accessible positive and safe play experience for children from ages 3 to 13 and will encourage healthy physical and social activity and development through play. Within walking distance car journeys will be cut so benefiting the environment and this will also combat obesity factors and promote the mental well being of parents and children alike. Good accessible play provision in the area will be of benefit to visitors to the area particularly grandparents who are known to visit thus promoting and nurturing cross generational ties and relationships.
14. How will you monitor this?
Parish Councillors frequently pass the play area and engage with local residents as to the quality of the facilities provided. This has helped inform the design of the project. This dialogue will continue post installation to ensure that maximum benefit is derived from the new equipment.
15. Safeguarding. Please tell us about how you will protect and safeguard those involved in your project
16. If your project will continue after the Wiltshire Council funding runs out, how will you continue to fund it?
The ongoing maintenance will be incorporated into the Parish Councils asset management plan and existing asset maintenance programme and funded by the Parish Council precept
17. If this application forms part of a larger project (eg. building of new village hall), please state what this project is and approximately how much the overall project will cost.
