Post 16 Student Transport

If you are wishing to apply for Post 16 support with travel in accordance with the SEND Transport Policy for your young person, please complete the form below.

Applications for September start date will need to be submitted by 31st July or it cannot be guaranteed that the transport will be in place for the start of the new academic year.

This application will need to be completed every year if your young person is continuing in full time education after the age of 16, either at school 6th form or college and is unable to travel on mainstream transport. You should complete this form even if your child is staying at the same setting and is already on transport.

For post 16 travel: a charge is applicable for this scheme, with a considerable discount for students from low-income households.

We can now offer reduced rate travel of £330 per annum for students whose gross household income is less than £20,819 and for all other students the charge will be £720. Travel arrangements will not be put in place until the full payment has been made or the Direct Debit for instalment payments has been set up.

If you are applying for transport and your son/daughter is over 19 years old on 1st September, transport will be provided free of charge.

College transport cannot start until a college timetable is provided and sent to SEND.transport@wiltshire.gov.uk. You will be given a unique application reference number, once you have submitted this form which you will need to quote when contacting us.

Payments
For households where the earned income is greater than £20,819 the fee which is £720 applies. For households where the earned income is less than £20,819 the fee is reduced to £330 for the academic year. You will be required to evidence your entitlement to the reduced rate, with all pages of your most recent tax credit award notice or 3 most recent universal credit statements, in full. You can pay in full or spread the cost and pay by Direct Debit, transport will not be confirmed until payment has been received or an instalment plan set up.

This information will be stored on the computer and manual files. This personal data will be used only for the purpose of providing transport, or purposes relating to this service.

Please note we require a minimum of 3 weeks from receipt of your application to arrange suitable transport and potentially this could take longer due to the complex needs of some students.
