Description: A World War II Relief Landing Ground developed in 1940 by the Flying Training Command. In November 1942 a domestic site was built on the eastern corner of the field. Approximately 5 wooden huts were erected here and three more to the south of the field. Some were barrack huts for airmen and there was a combined Officers' and SNCOs' Mess.It was developed in 1940 and opened for use in 1941. A domestic site was added in 1942 in the eastern corner of the field. The airfield was equipped with two Blister aircraft hangars. The airfield was used by a variety of units, mostly for training purposes. These included: 14 Flying Training School, 3 Elementary Flying Training School, Number 3 Glider Training School and Number 1 Beam Approach School. The airfield closed in 1946 and was subsequently used for agricultural purposes. Air photographs taken in 1989 show that much of the airfield has gone apart from an area of roads and buildings in the south-east corner which although altered remained at that date.

Description: A grass airfield, probably dating to WWII has been seen and mapped on aerial photographs. It is sited northwest of King Edwards Place, centred at SU 2189 8207 and covers an area of approximately 1170 metres by 820 metres. It can be seen on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1946, where all of the field boundaries within the area have been removed, and the remains of what was probably an area of hard standing can be seen to the south of the area at SU 2193 8160. Several small areas of roads and small hutlike buildings can be seen on the outskirts of the southeast corner at SU 2238 8204, with four possible hangers also located around the edges of the airfield. Later aerial photographs taken in May 1989 show that most of these buildings have now been destroyed apart from the small area of buildings and roads in the southeast corner, but these have still been greatly altered.
