As part of Salisbury Cathedrals 800th Anniversary the City will be hosting a series of celebration events during next year on the theme of Salisbury 2020 A City on the move. Wiltshire Council are leading on the technology strand and are planning a STEM exhibitionfair on 11th March 2020 at Salisbury Guildhall.

The event will be attended by local and national employers and is designed for students in Years 7-9. It aims toEnable young people to find out about the exciting career opportunities in science technology engineering and maths STEMBring STEM subjects to life through exhibits and hands-on activities designed to engage and inspire future engineers and scientistsAnother ambition we have for this project will be to set up 20 new work experience places Apprenticeships and placement jobs in the stem industry over the next year or so. this will build a legacy in Salisbury as a leading employer and educational hub in the STEM industry.

We intend to work with companies who have a high social corporate responsibility and have the same vision and passion as Wiltshire council for promoting tech and STEM to young people. These companies will be familiar with WILTSHIRE Council and would be vetted with the help of the South Wiltshire Recovery Team Youth education and skills team and economy and enterprise team. This event will be an event to go to not an online activity.
