13/02/2019 15:53:15 This project sounds like a good opportunity to engage with young people and to offer advice and help. This is especially important during the summer holidays when young people have a lot of time on their hands and with the pressure of exam results waiting at the end. I am happy to put this application to the area board members.

Wiltshire YFC Devizes Summer 2019 Pop Up Youth Cafe

2. Project summary: (100 words)
Providing a Safe and active venue for youth engagement. Wiltshire YFC Devizes Summer 2018 Pop Up Youth Cafe working with detached young people and using resources and youth workers to encourage and support teenagers. The activities are open and free to all but often connects with those who are NEET or at risk of exclusion. The event also takes place during the summer break when groups gather together and more at risk of anti-social behaviour.

Building on success in previous years Wiltshire YFC will deliver community based Mobile Youth Work engaging with young people for a week in the Summer of 2019.Last year we connected with around 100 local young people and provided and safe and engaging space to talk around issues relevant to them including exam results family and social issues. We partnered with local Police other service providers and local residents to help build a stronger sense of community. Wiltshire YFC are committed to supporting communities and young people right across Wiltshire. We assist young people in their current challenges of life and during their transition to adulthood and encourages them to make a full and positive contribution to the communities in which they live. Other activities such as a Youth Cafe Community Van with other activities will be run. Young people have been involved through the LYN and CYO at a previous area meeting presentation to vote for this project as their top activity idea. Wiltshire YFC will organize the activity week linking with other local agencies such as Police and community groups to support and encourage local young people within the Devizes area. As with previous years There will be no charge for those young people attending and there for open to all regardless of financial circumstances or challenges. The area to be used is suitable for all including those with disabilities.

As an established Youth Work organisation we have policies and procedures in place to support both staff and young people in our work. All staff are trained and experienced youth workers and fully DBS checked. We have experience of dealing with and procedures for dealing with Safeguarding issues Mental health etc and clear roles within the organisation to make sure they are dealt with appropriately

9. Monitoring your project
How will you know if your project has been successful?

All projects are reviewed and monitored on a regular basis and feedback is always sort from those involved. Records are kept on numbers attending comments and suggestions are received from service users and other agencies to monitor and evaluate activities. A report will be produced to highlight the aims we achieved and any recommendations for future activities.

This figure Surplus is actually is covered by our Bath YFC parent charity who subsidise the Wiltshire work. The reserves are in place as good practice for ongoing running costs and work. This applications covers the costs incurred from this specific project.
