Chippenham photography competitionI am aware that the council have previously ran photography competitions for young people in Chippenham. I would like to offer my skills in this field as a trained photographer and youth worker. I run a small business called The Photo Club our aim is to inspire young people through photography. Our main focus areas include motivation self expression mental health and wellbeing. Please take a look at my websitehttpsthe-photo-club.weebly.comWe will decide the competition name at a later date but ideally I would like to tailor it towards mental health and wellbeing within the community. While running the photography competition we will split the young people into three categories by their age. These will be 11-13 14-16 and 17-19. Within each category we will have a 1st 2nd and 3rd place winner who will each receive a prize. I am hopeful to get the community and local businesses involved with prizes which will essentially promote the photography competition. We would like to encourage young people to get involved by not only entering the photography competition but also by being a part of the judging panel. I would like to invite respected members of the community to also be a part of the judging panel. We will promote the photography competition with flyers posters and social media. I will also visit local schools colleges and youth groups to encourage those working with young people to help promote the competition. As part of the promotion I aim to do outreach youth work around the local area. This will include visiting already established youth groups clubs charities and schools. I will offer the groups the opportunity to learn basic photography tips and techniques with the cameras they have available to them Eg phones. This will give them the skills and confidence to enter the competition. The young people will have the use of our DSLR cameras. I will show them how to use these cameras and learn the basic settings. Depending on the groups I may run a 30 minuet lunch time activites or an engaging hour of photography on an evening at a youth club. To help encourage and reward every young person who enters I would like to offer 10 off ANY project or afterschool club run by The Photo Club. We will hold a prize award evening and invite all those who have been part of the photography competition process.
