Trowbridge Sea Cadets have had to move out of their permanent building due to the site being developed. The local community grant has been kind enough to assist us with the huge increase in accommodation costs we have had to deal with on previous occasions. This is still ongoing and means any fundraising we do goes on hall costs instead of providing learning opportunities to our cadets. We would like to apply for a grant to assist us in getting some much needed equipment to enhance our cadets experience during both the boating season and during parade related activities. I would like to apply for 2500 towards replacement boating equipment Oars Safety Throw lines Tow Lines Kayak equipment and Parade Boots.

Welcome young people from the ages 10-18 to take part in a variety of activities. Cadets come from all areas of Trowbridge and surrounding towns and villages. At the moment there are approximately 30 cadets involved who benefit from having somewhere to meet on a regular basis. All cadets pay a subscription which we try to keep to a minimum to make it affordable for all. Trips and training are heavily subsidised to make sure that they are available for all cadets. Cadets are encouraged to help at functions eg. local fetes poppy selling for the Royal British Legion Armed Forces weekend and have assisted car parking events. We have also established a link with a local education establishment which has resulted in us sharing a minibus with Clarendon School. One of the qualifications we offer is the CVQO in Teamwork Personal Skill and Citizenship which all our cadets are currently on at various levels. This qualification formal recognised the cadet team leadership skills team work and community service. During the boating season all cadets spend two nights a week doing water based activities which include rowing and kayaking.
