Due to a player completing suicide last November - the clubs have made it a priority to ensure ALL coaches are trained in mental health awareness. This is so they can recognise behaviours of players which can be then signposted as a mental health issue. From the workshop they will then be able to provide support and basic guidance. These project has been developed from this recognised need. There are 80 coaches within the clubs and 750 players - male and female which will benefit from this scheme. There is no charge to the coaches and it will be run from Stanley Park Sports Ground at dates times convenient to coaches and the clubs. The programme will be five workshops. This site is accessible to all and the workshop is open to all registered coaches. This is supported by all members of the football teams and their families. The rent has been agreed at a discounted rate of 50 off.Mental Health Awareness Sessions are trained to support people to manage wellbeing proactively and minimise the impact of mental ill health on work and life. Helping people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues offer initial help and guide a person towards support. Teaching people to actively listen reassure and respond even in a crisis - and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. Giving people the tools to keep themselves and those around them healthy. Encouraging them to access support when its needed for a faster recovery. Empowering people with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive. Stopping preventable health issues arising by building a supportive culture around mental health. Helping to embed positive long term cultural change across your organisation.
