Salisbury Live 2019

2. Project summary: (100 words)
Salisbury Live 2019 will again run over the whole of May 2019. Free music and performance art events will be programmed into City venues and 2 large open air events are also planned. Salisbury Live is very keen to include a youth festivalshowcase event and have discussed with Community Development officers the possibility of organising and a programming an event that is facilitated and run by young people

Salisbury residence will be able to access and enjoy an eclectic mix of free music events across the city throughout the month of May. City venues and select open air sites will all benefit from this community music event as Salisbury Live will also attract footfall from the surrounding towns and villages. Local musical artists will obtain exposure via a strong marketing campaign including the Salisbury Journal as our media partners and the opportunity to showcase and perform to an enthusiastic audience. The performers for the main program will also include youngsters from local schools Wiltshire College and performance groups. Also the inclusion of a youth event as part of Salisbury Live will give the young people a sense of ownership. The British Heart Foundation is the chosen charity for 2019 event. Local City businesses such as printing and sound and lighting companies will be again utilised

Select licenced venues will adopt an under 18 policy for certain events All young persons under the age of 18 will be accompanied by a responsible adult these venues will also have SIA security staff to monitor door and control public. The same will apply to the open air events where there will also be a professional volunteer group Serve Onon duty.Regarding the proposed youth event. The community Development officers and relevant staff will be responsible for safeguarding.Online access to youth events will be via the relevant Wilts and City Councils web and social media outlets.

How will you know if your project has been successful?

Salisbury Live Social media sites regularly updated by admin staff linking to relevant sites regular updates and feedback. The Salisbury Journal is our media partner and have committed to regular editorials and spotlight on features. With the return of the Salisbury International Arts Festival Salisbury Live has been invited to include key events as part of their program. Monitor and Topping up of Salisbury Live brochures in city centre shops and businesses plus allocated sites within a 20 mile radius
