CATG Action / Recommendation

Excessive dog fouling and litter on the boundary path around my property. Tarmac pathway is now very slippery due to wet weather combined with build up of dog mess and leaves from adjacent trees.

Issue Location

Street / Location

Sycamore Grove to College Road

Electoral Division

Issue Duration

6 months

Who is Affected

Members of the public using the path particularly school children attending Grove Primary School

What has been done so far

I moved into 42 Sycamore Grove in February 2016 and initially with another adjoining property owner we kept the path clear ourselves. This included litter picking and the clearing of fallen leaves from adjoining trees as it is these which add to the cause of the slimey slippery surface. However recently the amount of dog mess has made the path almost impassable with out extreme care and definitely not after dark - My neighbour and I have stopped maintaining this path I dont and never did use it anyway as the amount of litter and dog mess has got out of control.

What would resolve issue

Installation of a dog mess and or litter bin. Emptied on a regular basis.Clarification of who is responsible for the clearing of leaves from overhanging trees in private gardens adjacent the path.

Who needs to come together

Dog Warden Litter Collection Team
