Issue

Fast flowing traffic a danger to residents and those that live around the Common Platt junction with the B4553. Traffic flow has now considerably increased since the granting of permission to build tadpole lane and ridgeway farm housing estates. Traffic is now speeding at dangerous levels around our community and that of the Parish of Lydiard Millicent. No traffic calming measures have been introduced to prevent these hazardous drivers many of whom speed beyond safety and many HGVs turning into the wrong roads. The surface of countryside roads have not stood up well to this increase of traffic and were in no doubt built to withstand the weight being used upon them. This is leading to daily accidents damage to verges and an uprising in road rage around our narrow hamlet.CLOSING THIS IS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RESPONSE.

Issue Duration

More than three years

Who is Affected

The residents of Common Platt and surrounding area of The Parish of Lydiard Millicent

What has been done so far

Promote the dangers and repeat eaten accidents to our Councillors

What would resolve issue

An immediate introduction of some form of temporary chicane red and white bollards to reduce speeding traffic and racing of cars into and away from the junction of the B4553 and Washpool Rd.BLOOD IS GOING TO BE ON SOMEONES HANDS SOON. SIMPLY IGNORING THIS BY CLOSING IT DOWN AND SAYING NOTHING CAN BE DONE IS NOT AN OPTION. This is ongoing and waiting over another year is not the correct form of action.
