Issue Summary

speed reduction Purton Road Common Platt

Latest Update

08/12/2017 11:58:46 Thank you for raising this issue with us. We discussed your issue at our Community ARea Transport Group (CATG) meeting on 6/12/17. We are experiencing unprecedented levels of roadworks and development within our Community Area at present which means that traffic is having to divert to other routes. The Junction 16 redesign is due to be completed in April 2018. The next phase of the Ridgeway Farm development will require changes to the road layout, we are anticipating that this will happen late 2018. Until these two situations have been addressed, the Area Board is not in a position to consider any further changes and we are therefore closing this issue. If you would like to find out any progress in future, please contact your local Wiltshire Councillor.

CATG Action / Recommendation

08/12/2017 11:58:46 CATG cannot do anything further on this until M4 J16 works complete and Ridgeway Farm redesign has happened.

Request for a speed reduction Purton RoadCommon Platt currently this is 40mph speed limit for a relatively small stretch of road. However this is a dangerous stretch of road all the more so given the new Ridgeway Farm Development and it would make sense along with other improvements to introduce a speed limit of 30mph for Purton RoadCommon Platt throughout. Residents of Common Platt Purton and Lydiard Millicent are suffering and it is not acceptable to existing residents to be told to wait and see what happens with the new development. They are having to suffer and put up with this on a daily basis.
