Issue Summary

Cycle path between Bradford on Avon on Holt

Latest Update

31/10/2017 14:20:13 Referred to Spencer Drinkwater (Transport Planning) and for discussion at BoA Community Area Transport Group

CATG Action / Recommendation

Lost opportunity. Wiltshire Scullers as part of a grant bid for the CIL had a costed cycle route between Bradford on avon and holt. This has not been progressed onto the next stage of the agenda. There are developments - the councils cemetery and the Redcliffe Homes development which could easily key into this proposal and should be contributing towards it. Bearing in mind the recent ruling against Central government on air pollution local government particularly in an area like BOA which has chronic air pollution should be taking opportunities not simply exacerbating problems. The Board is asked to challenge the County on removing the cycle route proposal and to reinstate it. This would also be an opportunity to look at the notorious junction at Forewoods Common.
