14/12/2017 14:44:29 This issue was discussed at the Calne CATG meeting on 12th October 2017, An estimate for signage scheme and temporary traffic management was costed at 1,850. The Town Council rep reported that TD&P committee did not support this scheme. As such the area board would be recommended to close this issue.

On the way INTO Calne there is a mini roundabout next to Chilvester Lodge. At the roundabout it divides into 2 lanes but only one lane on the exit road opposite. The problem is that BSM still teach the 12 oclock rule for unmarked roundabouts and people are trying to enter the roundabout to exit opposite in both the left hand lane 12 0clock rule and also the righthand lane as they think the left lane is for the left hand turn off the roundabout

All motorists it is a dangerous situation when you have 2 vehicles heading toward a single exit road both believing the other is in the wrong lane

What would resolve issue

for either road arrow markings defining which lane is used for which exit or better still an upright painted sign for all to see even if they are in a queue so they can get themselves in the right lane for their particular exit needs
