Issue

The footpath next to Marlborough Police Station on George Lane and known as Van Diemens FP28 is in need of upgrading. This is particularly the case since increased usage following the opening of the new Marlborough St Marys Primary School. It is referred to in the schools Travel Plan. Parents school staff and governors are also calling for improvements to be made.

Discussions have been undertaken involving the school the Town Council and Wiltshire Council.

What would resolve issue

An upgrading of the path to complement the necessary work to improve safety at George Lane for children walking to school see separate issue. It links the school to a busy highway and should be considered for the funding for repairs to paths.
