Latest Update

08/12/2017 08:06:34 Thank you for raising this issue with us. We are pleased to inform you that a review of Crosslanes junction was prioritised at the Community Area Transport Group meeting on December 6th 2017 as part of issue 5083. Our local Highways Officer will therefore be looking at the area over the next few months with a view to seeing if there are any road safety improvements that can be made. Any suggestions will need to be discussed with the Area Board, Parish Councils and local residents. All updates will be made via issue 5083 or you can contact your local councillor for updates. We are therefore closing this issue .

Issue

At this junction it is not clear who has priority leading to dangerous near-misses as vehicles pull out in front of one another. Although this has been a problem for many years it is only recently with the greatly increased volume of traffic that the situation has become so dangerous. The priority needs to be made clear - either with a roundabout or at least a Stop sign and line across either Crosslanes or the Hayes Knoll road to signify which has priority.

What has been done so far

What would resolve issue

The priority needs to be made clear - either with a roundabout or at least a Stop sign and line across either Crosslanes or the Hayes Knoll road to signify which has priority.

Who needs to come together

Not sure who has responsibility for upgrading the roads in this area - WCC, Purton and Cricklade Parish Councils possibly?
