Issue

Baydon Parish Council would like to change the speed limit of Manor Lane in Baydon from 30mph to 20mph. The current 30mph is not appropriate for the narrow lane which is single track in some places with blind bends and no pavements. Baydon PC hope that a correct limit of 20mph would also encourage drivers to slow down.

Issue Duration

Who is Affected

Residents of Manor Lane and anyone using the village hall including the Toddler Group.

What has been done so far

Manor Lane is used by commuters as a rat run between Ermin Street and Aldbourne Road. Previous metrocount that we requested in 2014 showed that the 85th percentile was 23 mph so we believe Manor Lane meets the criteria for a 20mph limit.

What would resolve issue

Change the 30mph limit to a 20mph limit on Manor Lane Baydon please
