What has been done so far

COGS the Cycling Opportunities Group Salisbury have been trying to improve infrastructure for cyclists in and around Salisbury for many years and work with WC officers and councillors on the Cycle Liaison Panel and this matter has been discussed in that forum.

What would resolve issue

Consideration should be given to making High Street 2-way for cyclists from New Canal to Crane Street - this is part of the National Cycle Network Route 45 and a busy cycle route. Cyclists should give way to pedestrians and may need to dismount as they do currently if the street is crowded with people on foot. However when pedestrian traffic permits it should be permissable to cycle in both directions.
