CATG Action / Recommendation

Issue

URGENT - Sharon Simmons has asked that this be treated as a matter of URGENCY. Her daughter was hit last week by a van travelling at 60mph as she pulled out of the layby - which is where they access their parking space. Other neighbours are afraid to cross this road as the traffic is too fast and there have been 4 accidents at this point this year. There are also bollards in the road and drivers frequently overtake at the bollards on the wrong side of the road. Mrs Simmons has many neighbours who are extremely concerned that the road is so dangerous at this point. It is two lines of traffic and they all feel that the 3 lanes that used to be there should be reinstated along with hatching and additional signage to slow traffic. Ideally they would also all like it to be 40mph here rather than the 60mph at present. She feels that it is only a matter of time before someone gets killed and that last week it could well have been her daughter.
