Issue

The Alcombe HGV incident reported under MyWilts issue report 1017011 has recently been closed. The purpose of this report is to trigger a CAT-G response to the issue of the inappropriate signage at the A4 MiddlehillDitteridgeAlcombe junction at Grid Reference ST813687. The CAT-G tasked Box PC with organising a meeting between BoxColerne PC and Octavian Vaults in order to discuss the HGV routing arrangements the output from the meeting was to provide recommendations that will mitigate the accidentproperty damage risks at Alcombe. The BoxColerne PC and Octavain meeting discussed the various issues and concluded that the A4 junction would benefit from a robust Red Warning sign discouraging HGV drivers from using the lanes leading to Colerne and that the current Black advisory signs should be removed. Copies of the confirmatory notes from the meeting have been produced and are available to the CAT-G if required.
