YL - Inconsiderate parking Lowden Avenue Chippenham

Latest Update

08/11/2017 07:23:26 Wiltshire Council receives many requests across the County for Waiting and Parking Restrictions. Due to the high level of enquiries, all requests are considered and reported on annual basis and prioritised against an assessment matrix. The process for dealing with Waiting Restrictions/Double Yellow Lines has recently changed; Chippenham Town Council is now working in partnership with Wiltshire Council to deal with the requests. New requests - with immediate effect, all new requests will be referred to Chippenham Town Council. Existing requests – Chippenham Town Council require a new Waiting Restriction 1 (WR1) form completed. This is to comply with Data Protection Guidance and to ensure that all of the requests are still valid. Your Community will therefore be closed and a new WR1 form will be sent to you. Our records show that you have previously contacted us about Waiting Restrictions/Double Yellow Lines. If you wish to pursue your request, please complete the WR1 form and return to Chippenham Town Council: by e-mail - achard@chippenham.gov.uk or by post Chippenham Town Council, High Street Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 3ER A review of Waiting Restrictions/Double Yellow Lines requests for Chippenham is due to take place in 2018. My issue is with parking at my property inconsiderate drivers boxing me in and making it difficult for me to get in and out of my driveway. At the moment I have a white line across but no one takes any notice of it. We suffer here with all day parkers mothers dropping off at the nursery and Ivy Lane school and residents who have garages at the back but do not use them. My property is on a bend which makes it doubly difficult as I have to get out fairly quickly.

Issue Duration

Who is Affected

My wife and myself when we want to get out of the driveway.

What has been done so far

We had a white line painted across the driveway but it is now wearing away and no one takes any notice of it.

What would resolve issue

Is it possible to have a double yellow line painted across our driveway extended enough to allow us to swing the car around and straighten up as there is always a car parked opposite as well.

Who needs to come together

Presumably Chippenham Town Council or Wiltshire Council whoever manages road painting.
